About Kamakshi

I am a 4th year Dean's List UBC student pursuing a BA Honors in Economics. I am committed to making learning fun and engaging. I am an experienced tutor and have worked with students for over 2 years especially for introductory economics. I am a volunteer at UBC's VSE Learning Centre, helping students excel in their university courses in the initial years.

About the lesson

When it comes to tutoring students in (macro and micro) economics, my approach is centered on three key principles: engagement, clarity, and adaptability.

1. Engagement: I believe that the foundation of effective learning is a student's engagement with the subject matter. To foster this, I employ a variety of teaching methods, including real-world examples and practical applications.

2. Clarity: Economics can be a challenging subject, and one of my main goals as a tutor is to simplify concepts using diagrams, graphs and my own notes. I break down theories and models into manageable, easy-to-understand parts.

3. Adaptability: Every student is unique, and I understand that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to teaching. I tailor my tutoring methods to the individual needs of each student.

In addition to these core principles, I am a firm believer in setting clear goals and expectations for both students and myself. I will work closely with students to identify their specific learning objectives and create a plan to achieve them. I'm also open to feedback and will adjust my teaching methods as needed to ensure that students are making the progress they desire.
