About Ross
I now work as a University Lecturer teaching Biomedical Science and have years of experience of tutoring biology at GCSE, A level and degree level. My love for biology came about because a particular science teacher created a nurturing environment that allowed me to build my self confidence and made learning about biology fun. These are two things I aim to foster in my own tutoring sessions. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing students grow in their self confidence and self belief and see them master an area of biology that previously they found to be that little bit tricky.

I provide a personalised approach to tutoring, focusing upon particular areas that students find that little bit tricky. I like to spend a tutorial re-introducing the fundamentals, prior to then building upon the detail. I aim to create a relaxed and enjoyable environment for learning.
I very much enjoy supporting the tutorial through the use of hands-on activities, such as match the statement to the answer, or fill in the missing blanks. This enables the student and myself to gauge where we are at the end of the session. Students also tell me how much they enjoy this (hopefully as much as I do!).
