About Amir

Hi, I’m Amir, and I’m passionate about helping students master physics and math. With a background in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from UC Berkeley, I bring both a strong academic foundation and practical experience to my tutoring sessions. I've tutored both high school and college students across a range of subjects, including precalculus, AP math, geometry, and calculus.

My goal is to make complex topics clear and approachable, ensuring that my students feel confident and prepared, whether for exams or classwork. With years of experience tutoring at both the high school and college levels, I have developed a deep understanding of how to tailor lessons to fit each student’s needs and learning style.

My approach is rooted in patience, clarity, and a focus on practice-based learning. I’m committed to helping students excel by building their problem-solving skills and ensuring they have the confidence to tackle challenging material. I strive to create a positive and encouraging learning environment where students can thrive and reach their academic goals.

I focus on ensuring my students not only understand the theory but also excel in applying their knowledge through practice. My sessions are structured around developing problem-solving skills, which are essential for mastering subjects like physics and math.

My Teaching Method: I prioritize practice-based learning, where students actively solve problems and engage in exercises that reflect the complexity of their course material. My technique involves breaking down challenging concepts into manageable parts and guiding students through the process of understanding, applying, and mastering them.

Typical Lesson Plan: Each session begins with a brief review of previous topics, followed by focused work on new concepts. We then dive into problem-solving exercises tailored to the student's needs. I ensure there’s plenty of time for hands-on practice, guiding students through step-by-step solutions and addressing any questions along the way.

What Sets Me Apart: My emphasis on practice as the primary learning tool is what distinguishes me. I don't just teach theory – I help students build the confidence and skills they need to tackle even the most challenging problems. Whether it's preparing for an exam or developing a deeper understanding of complex topics, I strive to create a supportive and results-driven learning environment.

Who My Lessons Are For: I offer tutoring for high school and college students across various subjects including:

Precalculus
AP Math
Geometry
Calculus
Physics

No matter the level or specific course, my goal is to help each student succeed by tailoring the lessons to their unique learning style and academic needs.
