About Sofia
I am currently in my first year at QMUL studying Computer Science with Management. Having just gained A*AA in my A Levels, I am passionate about helping other students obtain their maximum capabilities. Despite not advancing my English skills to a degree level, I am confident that I am suitable for this position, having achieved an A* and A in my English GCSEs. My passion for the language did not terminate once I had finished secondary school however; I still enjoy reading and continue to explore this complex and intricate language, looking up new words every day. This language is taking over the world; wherever you travel, English is spoken, therefore, it is almost a necessity in the modern world to have this skill.

I am eager to motivate students to achieve their optimum ability. I will alter my teaching method to suit the student as required, and I have experience teaching Spanish to Year 3 students, therefore I am able to take notice of any challenges they may experience during their education with me. Although I was teaching Spanish and not English, I can apply what I have learnt from this experience. During my first lesson, I will assess the student's learning style; whether they are an auditory, visual, kinaesthetic learner etc. Together, the student and I will work through a variety of activities and we will decide what type of teaching they prefer. Every lesson will begin with a casual conversation, in order to make the student feel comfortable and confident before gradually working towards the session's objective. My promise to you is to support your education in a fun and interactive way.
