About Christina

I'm a fourth year medical student and would love to teach biology (any level), Combined sciences (up to GCSE) or help those struggling with maths, especially due to dyslexia,as this is Something I once struggled with and overcame. I can also help with medicine related topics, such as personal statements, GAMSAT and UKCAT (both of Which I Scored well in)

About the lesson

I take pride in being a friendly and engaging tutor, who can break down complicated topics
into easier to manage pieces. My teaching style is largely dependent on the student; I
would seek to talk to them and observe which teaching approach suits them best, and in
collaboration with the student, would take care to develop a personalised teaching style to
best support them in an ideal way. For less confident students, I would take a more hands
off approach, taking opportunities to demonstrate to them their ability to tackle problems
they think beyond their capabilities. My main goal would be to develop the students self
belief and confidence.
I am especially skilled at working with students who struggle with a topic, and am good at
"going back to basics" and ensuring they are strong before progressing. I am dyslexic
myself, and therefore understand the importance of seeking alternative learning strategies
for topics of difficulty, and would seek to help the student develop their own learning style
and strategies during our lessons, whilst building confidence in their abilities. I believe this
ability think critically about their approach to learning and developing their own learning
strategies is a valuable life skill and a key step towards becoming an independent learner.
For younger students, I have experience in making lessons fun and incorporating elements
such as games into lessons
