About Mike

Professional Science Educator & Biomedical Specialist

Welcome to my profile. I am a professional science educator, biomedical scientist, and the founder of a dedicated international science academy. My academic background is rooted deeply in the life sciences, giving me a rigorous, comprehensive understanding of complex biochemical mechanisms, molecular pathways, and advanced laboratory frameworks.
Over the past 18 months alone, I have successfully delivered nearly 600 hours of high-stakes, one-on-one online tuition on elite global academic platforms. This extensive experience means I am completely synchronised with the nuances of international curricula, university expectations, and competitive exam structures.
My tutoring career is defined by helping students transition from feeling overwhelmed by heavy scientific theory to achieving absolute mastery and confidence in their subject matter. I am passionate about mentoring the next generation of scientists, medical professionals, and researchers, providing them with the exact strategic edge they need to stand out in highly competitive academic environments.

Specialist Academic Focus

I focus exclusively on high-yielding, complex STEM subjects where precision and deep curriculum familiarity make all the difference. My expertise spans:
• Higher Education: University-level Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, Genetics, and Biotechnology.
• Advanced Secondary: Comprehensive exam preparation for A-Level Chemistry and A-Level Biology.
• Foundational Excellence: All-in-one mastery of the IGCSE Triple Science framework (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics).
Whether your goal is navigating complex metabolic pathways at the undergraduate level, securing the top-tier grades required for UK medical school entry, or building a flawless foundation in high school science, my background equips me to help you unlock your full academic potential.

My Teaching Methodology & Techniques

My approach is highly structured, results-driven, and meticulously aligned with the rigorous demands of the British curriculum and university-level life sciences. Having logged over 600 successful teaching hours on elite platforms, I know exactly where students lose marks and how to bridge the gap between high school theory and exam-day execution.
Our online sessions are dynamic and highly efficient, focusing heavily on three core areas:
• Mark Scheme Dissection: We don't just learn the theory. We break down past exam papers (AQA, OCR, Edexcel, Cambridge) to master the precise keywords and trigger phrases that examiners require for top-tier (\(A/A^*\)) grades.
• Intuitive Visual Learning: I specialise in converting abstract, high-yield topics—such as molecular genetics, complex metabolic pathways, and cellular biology—into crystal-clear, logical, and visual concepts.
• Advanced Digital Toolkit: Lessons are conducted using a high-end digital whiteboard, real-time collaboration tools, and active recall techniques to ensure the student is actively engaged rather than passively listening.

Typical Lesson Length

Lessons are typically 60 minutes or 90 minutes long. For advanced topics like A-Level preparation or University Biochemistry, a 60-minute session works best for intense, targeted topic reviews, while a 90-minute session is ideal for comprehensive past-paper run-throughs and deeper analytical practice.

Qualifications & Experience

I am a professional science educator, biomedical scientist, and founder of a dedicated science academy. I have extensive experience in the life sciences and a proven track record of guiding students through competitive exam cycles. Over the past 18 months alone, I have completed nearly 600 hours of high-stakes, 1-on-1 online tuition. This experience allows me to quickly spot a student's weak points and adapt my explanation style on the spot.

Who the Lessons Are For

My lessons are specifically tailored for motivated students aiming for top marks across three main groups:
• University Undergraduate Students: Studying advanced Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Genetics, and Biotechnology.
• A-Level Students (Ages 16–18): Preparing for high-stakes A-Level Biology and Chemistry exams, particularly those aiming for competitive UK medical, dental, or veterinary school entry.
• IGCSE Students (Ages 14–16): Looking for all-in-one mastery across the complete IGCSE Triple Science curriculum (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics).
