About Noha
I worked as a reporter and journalist in Arabic back in Cairo, Egypt for 15 years. My initial training was focused on translation from French and English into Arabic. I have later specialized in second language acquisition and testing (SLA). My work experience is university level classroom settings and Tutoring in Sunday school.

My teaching philosophy and approach is eclectic. It varies from translation, drills, repetition, recitation, memorization. All depends on what needs to be achieved but mainly my objective is that the student will build his own learning strategies creating meaning in conversation setting or in writing composition and/or presentation. Teaching can incorporate culture, movies and songs, Though, the basics such as grammar, pronunciation and writing is important and it has to be incorporated in different activities and adjusted to the students' needs and learning behavior. The lesson will introduce the material but it is up to the students to practice. Usually, a university student can be producing the language as a chunk and be able to read in 12 weeks 5 hours a week. Arabic is a beautiful language and carries a rich culture. Learning such a language can promote your career or simply provide an opportunity to read books that can't be grasped but in its native originality and/or simply travel and be more oriented with the Middle East.
