About Hannah
I am a graduate student specializing in biology with extensive hands-on laboratory experience in molecular biology and genetics. My background includes working with techniques such as DNA extraction, PCR, and data analysis, which allows me to connect complex concepts to real-world applications.
I bring a strong understanding of both the theoretical and practical sides of biology, helping students not only learn the material but truly understand how it is used in research and forensic settings. My academic training has emphasized precision, critical thinking, and clear scientific communication, skills that I pass on to my students.
As a tutor, I am reliable, patient, and highly organized. I take the time to understand each student’s goals and adapt my teaching style to fit their needs, whether they are preparing for exams, working through challenging assignments, or building a stronger foundation in the subject.
I am committed to creating a professional and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing confidence in their abilities. My goal is to help students achieve measurable improvement while gaining a deeper understanding of biology.

My approach is grounded in conceptual clarity + application, which is essential in fields like genetics and molecular biology where memorization alone is not sufficient.
I focus on:
- Building foundational understanding first
(e.g., DNA structure → gene expression → regulation → mutation impact)
- Active learning techniques
- Asking guiding questions instead of lecturing
- Having students explain concepts back to me (“teach-back method”)
- Visual and process-based learning
- Diagrams for pathways (replication, transcription, translation)
- Step-by-step breakdowns of mechanisms (PCR, electrophoresis)
- Real-world and forensic connections
- Applying concepts to DNA analysis, STR profiling, or case scenarios
- Exam-focused strategies
- Practice questions, data interpretation, and problem-solving under time constraints
I work with students across multiple levels, including:
- Undergraduate students
- Biology majors
- Pre-med / health science students
- Courses: general biology, genetics, molecular biology, cell biology
- High school (advanced / AP level)
- AP Biology or honors biology
- Introductory genetics concepts
- Early graduate-level support (select topics)
- Students needing help with foundational concepts or lab interpretation
- Special focus areas
- DNA analysis and genetic principles
- Molecular techniques (PCR, gel electrophoresis, sequencing basics)
- Data interpretation and experimental design
