About Evie
I recently graduated from The University of Manchester with a first in BA English Literature. I love reading and writing, and have a passion for promoting literacy and the joys of reading to others! During my degree, I was lucky enough to spend a semester abroad, studying at the National University of Singapore, where I gained a first.
I especially have a love for 18th and 19thC literature, so if you have any questions about this area - I would love to chat about it! I will soon be beginning a masters in this area.
I recently completed extensive training to become an English Tutor, so I have strong experience with lesson planning and adapting lessons to the students needs. I have been a swim teacher for 7 years now, and am a two-time qualified swim instructor. This means I have had a lot of experience of teaching all ages and abilities of children, including those with SEND.
I have volunteered with the Manchester Literature Festival, and recently begun working with the school visits at the Pankhurst centre. I am really passionate about education, and helping those around me succeed. I would love to help you achieve the best grades possible, whilst enjoying the process of learning!

Ready to teach all levels! From reading comprehension, to SATS, GCSE and A-Level.
Completed extensive training as an English Tutor. I have lesson plans prepared, extensive resources and understanding of behavioural needs.
Length of lesson 1-2 hours depending on needs of student.
Lesson will focus on desired needs of student and will follow this framework:
1. Starter and Recap (To get the student warmed up, and to recall previous learning)
2. Modelling (Demonstrating the desired outcome of learning together)
3. Guide and Scaffold (The student will have a try with my guidance!)
4. Independent work (The student will try without any help!)
5. Exam Preparation (How this will fit in an exam, perhaps trying some exam questions)
6. Ending with a recap and recall (To see how much was learnt in the session!)
I like to incorporate fun and games into learning, to ensure important techniques and objectives are memorised.
This method will be adapted and flexible to the students needs and requirements.
