About Aliya Farakh
I am an aspiring artist. I focus on oil painting and create portraits and paint still images from horror films. I also paint some more fluid semi-abstracted paintings focusing on my use of colour, creating texture with paint and effectively creating my own world through oil paint, with inspiration from the art histories of my mixed heritage. I have been painting for the majority of my life, having studied at every level and having just graduated with my master's in September 2025.

About the lesson

1 hour long sessions. First (free) session will determine what you wish to learn, where you need support and what you aim to gain from my tutoring. For example, if you want lessons on basics in how to use oil paint, colour theory when mixing colours, prepping and priming your ground for oil paint.
I have a degree in Fine Art with a high 2:1 and a master's in Painting with a Distinction. With experience in taking sessions with small groups of students, giving support and sharing my knowledge of oil paint mediums and what I have found works best for the techniques I prefer.
I can provide lessons on what I learnt from art school ranging from basic to advanced and also provide lessons on my specific preferred techniques within oil paint, portraiture, painting intuitively in a semi-abstracted style and some information on art histories.
