About Aimee
Hi there! I'm a passionate designer and creative with first-hand experience working in the fashion and sportswear industry. Since graduating in 2018 from the Manchester Metropolitan University with a first class honours degree in Fashion, I've worked for leading UK high street fashion brands gaining experience and industry knowledge which I'd love to share with fellow creatives looking to go down a similar path. As a tutor, I can offer a range of insight and support into approaching and managing design projects, from ideas and concept, sketching, presentation skills and creating a portfolio. Having worked with Adobe packages (Illustrator and Photoshop) in industry, I feel there are many valuable skills I can pass on which help support students with technical drawing (CAD) and techpacks. As a dedicated tutor I'd be delighted to work with and support other budding designers and creatives to help them thrive in their projects.

Being a designer involves a multitude of skills. Many people think fashion design is just drawing nice outfits but there are in fact so many aspects to creating great garments. That being said, not all areas of design can feel like your strongest skills so I'm eager to help students in any area that will help them round out into great designers. I offer both online and in-person lessons to students of all levels (GCSE & A-Levels Art and Textile, BTEC Art & Design, BA Fashion) Topics we can cover in lessons are: Concept - Creating a concept to work from as the foundation of your project Moodboards - Visualising your concept Colour - Colour research, presenting colour and applying this Market Research - Who are your competitors and how to analyse Draping - Utilising 3D draping techniques to help inspire ideas Sketching - exploring ideas on paper Collaging - A technique I always found helpful when in a 'creative block'. Using collage to help inspire ideas. CAD/ Technical drawings using Adobe Illustrator Techpacks - Creating a techpack in Adobe Illustrator Lineup - Presenting and visualising the final range Presentation skills - How to talk through ideas to an audience Fabrics - Learning about appropriate fabrics for your project Print - Creating a repeat print on Adobe Photoshop Sewing - Help in bringing your ideas to life
