About María Lourdes

I'm a Fashion & Textile Designer with a second degree in Marketing, a combination that lets me teach not just garment construction, but how to build a fashion brand with real strategic vision. I have over 10 years of professional experience in the industry and I'm the founder and creative director of Alium Atelier, a haute couture label based in the historic Bencich Building in Buenos Aires.

My work has been featured in Vogue Italia and Marie Claire, and I've participated in Buenos Aires Fashion Week and Puro Diseño. I hold an LVMH certification in Creation & Branding, bringing luxury industry standards to everything I teach.

I combine technical expertise with creative and strategic vision, giving students not just the tools to construct a garment, but the understanding to develop their own aesthetic and professional identity.

About the lesson

My classes are personalized and designed to help you transform an idea into a concrete, professional project.

I adapt every session to your level, goals and specific interests. We can cover fashion design, pattern making, cutting and sewing, haute couture techniques, product development, sustainable fashion and brand identity for fashion projects.

Each class combines technical foundations with hands-on practice, material analysis and real problem-solving. My goal is not for you to memorize procedures, but to understand why each technique works so you can apply it independently.

Classes are open to complete beginners as well as fashion students and entrepreneurs looking to refine their skills, develop a collection or turn a creative idea into a professional proposal.

Meli was engaged, curious, and very attentive throughout the lesson She followed the explanations well, asked thoughtful questions, and showed a genuine interest in learning sewing. She was also very pleasant to teach 🤍 As she continues learning, I would encourage her to keep practicing the techniques we covered so she can build confidence and develop greater precision with her stitches and sewing movements.
