My approach as a tutor:
My goal as a tutor is to create a student-centered, supportive, and focused learning environment. My goal is to focus on building both academic skills and confidence.
A typical lesson plan:
Review: revisit previously learned concepts.
Direct instruction: introduce new skills with direct instruction and explicit teacher modeling.
Guided practice: work through the skills just learned with your student.
Independent practice: allow the student to practice the skill independently.
Review lesson: focus on key takeaways, academic progress, and future goal setting.
What sets me apart:
As an experienced classroom teacher I am able to close learning gaps, differentiate instruction, and adapt lessons to meet my students' individual needs.
Who my lessons are for:
My lessons primarily focus on students grade 3-5 who need support in reading, reading comprehension, writing, and grammar.
