About Cathy
Reading that brings a delightful smile to a listener's face is my passion and service. So for the past three years, I have partnered with children to bring wide smiles to the faces of their parents, guardians, teachers, family, and friends.
I want to do the same for you. So let's eliminate those extra and unnecessary stops and pauses as we learn where and how to stop or pause your speech. Let's sound out and learn new words together and get your reading confidence to 100 percent.
Get the support you need to make reading your skill and gift to your listeners! Most of my students live in the Caribbean and were ashamed and afraid to read in public, now they read with confidence when called on.
With a master's degree in Counselling Psychology and a love for reading and comprehension, I'm here to help you overcome your fear of reading and to give you all the support and training you need.

Have a broad conversation with students about school, and how they feel about it before narrowing it into reading and their feelings and thoughts about reading. Explore what they believe are some of their trouble areas in reading followed by an assessment of them reading a passage or page of their favorite book/subject and least favorite subject. A 'becoming a delightful reader' plan is then developed based on the student's assessment. Assessment takes into consideration several things including recognition of words, pronunciation of sounds, reading structure and rhythm based on punctuation, fear of reading based on past experience of listeners, and speech concerns such as stuttering.
