About ALEXIS
I am a retired manager of an online tutoring Center for a university, I have spent 10 years teaching and providing tutoring support for students. As the manager of the Tutoring and Writing Center, it was my responsibility to identify the tutoring needs of students seeking assistance and then direct the students to the appropriate tutor for their course and tutoring needs.
In addition, to managing the Tutoring and Writing Center, I have a background and experience in teaching the foundations and basics of Medical Billing and Coding and Medical Office Administration I also provided coaching and tutoring support to students. As a CPC-certified medical Coder, I have and continue to strive to provide tutoring and support for medical coding students, as well as supporting Medical Office administration courses as a tutor.
I enjoy this work because I am helping others to develop their skills and passion for the medical coding industry. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Professional Communications and Arts and Humanities and a Master of Arts degree in Instructional Design and Adult Education from Alverno College. I have a Herzing University MBA with a specialization in Human Resources. I am certified as a Tutor Administrator/Director Certification and an Advanced Level Tutor Certification as a member of the National Tutoring Association (NTA).
I have over 10 years of general clerical experience, over 10 years of experience in the Health Insurance Industry in insurance claims processing, as a customer service representative, as an insurance claims processing trainer combined with eight years of experience as an instructor in medical coding and billing and medical office administration. I also have a background in speech writing and presentation.
