About Maya
I am an aspiring educator currently attending Loyola University Chicago for a B.A in Early Childhood Special Education. I already have my CDA along with over 500 hours spent educating in preschool classrooms. I've helped teach colors, counting, letters, basic reading, basic writing, rhyming, matching, and more! These skills easily tie over into educational material that is elementary and middle school level, I especially excel in English and Literature. Additionally, I have plenty of non-professional experience informally educating my peers, as a student I often peer reviewed papers and would help other students understand new concepts.
I love educating all ages and aim for my students to gain applicable study skills and a deep understanding of the content material. At the same time, I want to work collaboratively with students, their parents, and other educators to reach general goals. I'm an expert at applying myself, adapting to individual needs, and I approach teaching with a calm and patient demeanor. I hope to build relationships with students and help them achieve their fullest potential in a fun and engaging way.
