About MacKenzie
Certified K-12 Special Education Teacher.
Graduated with a degree in Education:Special education Multi-Categorical from Coastal Carolina University.
Private one on one tutoring or small group if prefered.
Has had over 5 years of classroom experience in multiple subjects, grade levels, and academic intensity.
I love working with children and getting to know them. For me teaching is about realtionships first and foremost. Learning is the most effective when you know your kids, and they in turn feel comfortable with you. Children and adults always learn most effectively when they enjoy the person who's teaching them.
I am a certified teacher for the state of South Carolina. I'm currently working on my own business ventures and I've decided to take this year off from teaching. I've been working as a tutor on and off for 7 years, and have been a nanny on and off since I was 14. I'm highly trained and certified for multiple subjects, ages, and ability levels. I also work with children who typically have learning disabilities, ADHD, and autism so I have a lot practice working with kids who have a harder time grasping concepts. I'm very paitent and flexible with learning.

I like to have an initial evaluation of the student ability. When working in special education you typically proctor an standardized exam to see where the class falls as far as ability levels. From their you individualize a plan to scaffold student learning from what they know to what they will know.
To put it simply I like to curate a plan of tutoring for each of my students that is individual to the subject matter and their own style of learning. This way their needs are met and they will have the highest rate of retention.
