About Amilee
In high school, I was in a senior high club for about two years. Although each individual impacted me, there was one that I will never forget. I tutored an 8th grade girl for about six months. In the beginning, she was getting D's, struggling mentally, and she was just having a difficult time. After months of us talking and working through her material together, she had come such a long way. She was receiving A's and B's and was absolutely thriving! She even got me a Christmas present. It was a little Christmas ornament in the shape of a flute. I could not believe she listened to me and remembered that I played the flute in the band. Needless to say, it was a very heartwarming experience, and I still cherish that ornament! Tutoring helps kids to have an extra push of encouragement and structure, and I love seeing the progress they make and the smiles on their faces. I would love elementary-high school students through this process as a college student now. I graduated high school with a 4.0, excelling in my English classes. I received multiple awards in scholarship money at graduation for my completion of essays and for maintaining a high GPA in English for all four years of high school. I am currently in my second semester of college, and I finished the first semester with a 4.0 as well. I am not perfect by any means, but I do believe I have the ability to teach good study habits, teach proper grammar and English writing, and I can work with the student on their individual needs. I would be happy and appreciative to connect with you and help you reach your academic goals!

The first time working with a new student, I try to get a feel for where they are at. I want to see their study habits and organization levels, their grade averages, what they are struggling with, and how I can help best. I also need to see their material to make sure I understand what they need me for of course. Then, I want them to ask me the questions they have, and work through their problems together. I do not want to do their work for them, but instead give them the tools to succeed, edit for them, and give them feedback. From there, we can see what works and what doesn't.
