About Lucy
There is nothing I love more than helping students be successful which is a major reason why I want to be a teacher. For those of you out there who need help, let me help you. I have experience from being a peer tutor at my school and experience from part time student teaching.
I am an education student at Georgian Court University so I got my first to teach this past year while doing my part time student teaching. Now I work as a peer tutor at my school and a substitute teacher.

I like to be able to get to know the student as a person and also get an understanding of how confident they are with a certain assignment. What ever assignment we'll be doing together, I will have them explain to me what kind of assignment it is and how much they are struggling. I will be sure to tell students about what they are doing extremely well with and what areas they need to work on. It's extremely important for every individual to know their strengths and for me as a teacher to help boost their confidence.
From my experiences from student teaching, I've been able to see broad range of writing skills. There are many students who struggled alot who I helped get better with their writing and had students who thrived who took small corrections.
I would reccomend that students look for a teacher who is passionate about helping them. Do not hire somebody who just wants money. A teacher who is passionate about helping students and who are also passionate in their area of expertise will be able to provide a student with so much guidance and knowledge.
Recently while I was substitute teaching, I was to help a girl with her reading assignment by asking her simple questions to find the answer. I was really happy because I didn't give her direct answers, instead I guided her to the answer.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should ask teachers about their experience and how much they like their area of study. I think it's also reasonable for students to ask teachers about their experience with writing so that they can more easily relate to their teacher. It's important for teachers to remember that they were once students and for students to know that teachers want to help them be successful.
