About Carolyn
Hello,
My name is Carolyn Martin and I am a retired teacher who taught in Detroit Public Schools for almost 30 years in grades K-8. I gave instruction in Language Arts (explicitly in reading grades 3-6), as well as Science and Social Studies. I am currently certified in All Subjects K-5, Self contained in English and Social Sciences, Grades 6-8.
After retirement, I volunteered as a teacher's assistant in the children's ministry at my church
I have also volunteered in the DPS Reading Corp. My responsibilities were increasing literacy using reading strategies while reading and having fun to PreK students.
I absolutely love working and teaching children!
I am a retired teacher who taught Reading/Language Arts for almost 30 years. Some say, teaching is a thankless job. Fortunately, I found out early on in my career that effective teaching not only builds skill mastery, self confidence and a hunger for more knowledge for students but it was overwhelmingly rewarding as a teacher to witness a metamorphosis that occured in my students.
