A little bit about me...
Dr. Stephen M. Weiss currently serves as Associate Professor for Ottawa University. In this position, Dr. Weiss is the faculty lead for the Masters of Business Administration (MBA), Masters of Accountancy (MAcc), the Strategic Business Administration (SBA) and Business Administration undergraduate degrees, and one of the content experts for the undergraduate accounting major. He is responsible for teaching and developing ground and online curriculum in the accounting and general business areas, integrating technology into the classroom, assessing student outcomes, and assisting and training faculty.
Dr. Weiss has 10 years practical, industry experience in accounting positions within the scrap metal recycling, relocation, and healthcare industries, six of which were held in public accounting.
Dr. Weiss graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 1999 with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting and holds an MBA degree from the Keller Graduate School of Management. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the State of Wisconsin with experience in financial statement preparation and analysis, audit and taxation. Dr. Weiss obtained his Ph.D. in Business with a specialization in Accounting from Capella University in 2016.
Dr. Weiss has a strong working knowledge of computer and software programs, including Microsoft Office and QuickBooks, along with an understanding of learning management systems, such as eCollege, Blackboard, BrightSpace, and Canvas.
