About Angela

I work in a large variety of media, including but not limited to drawing, sculpting, painting, mixed media, paper crafting, etc. I even have a 3D printer and laser cutter/engraver so I have the unique ability to work with a client to create a diy kits for cards, paper crafts or modeling, to send to their house and work with them to put together a unique piece of art. The possibilities are almost endless.

I have always had 2 passions teaching and art, I believe that everyone has the ability to create and helping others find their passion for art, and create something they can be proud of, is one of the most exciting things in the world! I have my certification in Art through Penn Foster, and a degree in education through Western Governor's University. I have been teaching off and on for 4 years, in addition to tutoring a variety of ages and skill level. I have most recently been an art teacher at a private school and hope to one day start my own community art studio to help inspire others to find their artistic voice.

I fell in love with teaching about 6 years ago when I taught as an emergency sub for a small school district. I proceeded to get a conditional teaching certificate in teaching and went back to school for my teaching degree. I have had a passion for art and took as many classes and opportunities to learn and grow my art techniques and eventually landed a short term job as an art educator at a private school and taught private lessons on the side.

I have a certificate in art through Penn Foster, BA in special education and elementary education through Western Governors, University and a BA in Family Life Education through Central Washington University. I have been instructing a variety of ages for the past 3 years children and adults alike, as well as working as a private art tutor.

About the lesson

The first thing I do is conference with the student to get a sense of their style, interest, perceived level, and actual level of skill. Then the student and I work together to form an individual learning plan and art goals that I will base my instruction around. Finally we create a schedule and preferred method to conduct sessions, and session length. Some options include correspondence, Google classroom, Hangouts, Skype, Zoom conferencing, and others. If the student is local, we could also have in person meetings when safe to do so.

I have worked with students of all types, from pre-K through adult, as well as students who were gifted, and those with special needs.

Details

My pricing ranges between 15 and 25 an hour depending on the age and media we will be working with. Pricing for a standard art session is as follows:

Pencil, graphite, charcoal, or color:

$15 for all levels

Water color or acrylic:

$15 beginner

$20 for intermediate to advanced

Sculpting:

$25 for beginning and intermediate*

DIY custome project kits

$20-$35 a kit depending on what goes into them and cost of shipping and free instruction on kit projects with each purchase. If supplies are needed for sculpting, etc. the customer can also "rent" supplies from me for a one time additional fee that will be refunded when the items are mailed back to me.

*I do not offer advanced level sculpting at this time.
