About Ric

F RIC BLUM – ARTIST - As a professional, formally trained artist, F Ric Blum has been working for more than thirty years in his mediums of painting, sculpture, and drawing. Having studied and trained in New York City, the art center of the world, his is an high end and competitive perspective about art that is of primary concern in his work, where his goal is the production of cutting edge art. He has studied with and personally known many internationally recognized artists including Jasper Johns and John Cage. He was also Clement Meadmore’s studio assistant. His work has been included in numerous group shows, including college art faculty shows, and he had one solo show in 1996 at the West End Gallery (defunct) in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Blum has a dedication to his work that is strong and passionate, and an important part of his life is in imparting his passion to others. He taught as an adjunct professor of art at a number of colleges including Lynn University, Palm Beach State College, and Broward College’s north campus. His classes included sculpture, painting, object and life drawing, color theory, 3-D design, design fundamentals, and art appreciation. He has a profile of student ratings on (concealed information) from Broward College with an overall quality rating of 4.1.

From 1987 to 1990 Blum was appointed to the Professional Artists Committee of the Palm Beach County Cultural Council, Florida whose purpose was discussion and implementation of art related activities in Palm Beach County. During that time, Blum did monthly on the air announcements about art activities in and around the greater Palm Beach County area for the public broadcasting channel, radio station WXEL .

Blum enjoys a quiet life and spends most of his time, when not at his day job, in his studio doing the work he loves. He relocated to Sebring, Florida in April of 2015.
