About Elaine
I have over 30 years experience teaching art both in the public’s school system and privately. My teaching style is supportive, individual, and encouraging. I stress the fundamentals of drawing and guide my students to develop the most essential foundation.

I started teaching after I graduated from college.
I hold a BS in art education, and a Masters Degree in Teaching with a Watercolor Concentration. I have over 35 years in public and private teaching of art in several media.

I access what each student needs and wants and guide them to reach their goals in a supportive manner. I follow the pace that each student is comfortable with.
I have worked with all types and ages of students.
I would advise future students to look at the teacher’s own artwork and their credentials.
My current students recently had an Art Exhibition at a local library. For most, it was the first time that they had exhibited their art work. They were very excited and I was extremely proud of them, and they had a few sales!
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
A student should make sure that the teacher has the student’s best interest in mind and does not follow a strict agenda. The teacher should bend with the student.
