A Studio internship introduced me to the word of art educuation and private lessons and I never went back!

I studied Illustration and Modern Dance at the Rockdale Fine Arts Academy which may not appear to have much crossover but conclusively promoted a very vivid "think outside the box" mentality in me as well as the value of persistence and practice and the power in knowing your art history! Skills I am excited to pass on to my students.

I also Interned as a Teacher's assistant at The Sketching Pad Art Studio in Conyers where I taught kids and adults from ages 2 to 50+. I did general intern activities such as cleaning, stocking, and keeping inventory of art supplies as well as more involved, hands on teaching oppurtunities such as illustration, acrylic and oil painting, character design, comic book style art, and primary to secondary art education.

About the lesson

I love to start new students off with a warm up based off of their personal interests but still structured and guided within the realm of whatever skill and mediums we intend to explore! This helps me introduce them to the concept and tools within the lesson while simultaneously observing their learning style and hint at what their personal direction and methodology as a blossoming artist might be!

As the lessons continue and I have observed and detected the best way to teach the new student as an individual, the content of the lessons become more routine and constructed to promote habit/practice based study.

Kids and adults of all ages a well as individuals with disabilities and impairments. Everyone is welcome.

Reach out to instructors you are interested in, ask them questions, and try to put your eyes on examples of their work as well as any hints at their style and methods used in teaching. I'd definitely have to say my experience at Atlanta Comic Con the summer of 2018 where I tabled a booth selling my own original artwork, handmade goodies, and designs and hosted a panel discussing the topic of Mental Health and Representation in Comic Books. (Photos of this experience can be found on my website (concealed information) It was life changing!
