About David
My lessons are fun and interactive. I bring lots of practical techniques and old school methods introduced in a modern way that takes into account the interest of my students.
At all of my lessons I introduce the works of an established modern or classical artist that either exemplifies the lesson of the day or is someone whose work or life story I think my student might find interesting.
Teaching art is a side gig for me so anytime spent with students who love creating and want to learn and talk about art is time well spent!

Before taking on new students, i think its important to talk with students or their parents to discuss what their goals are from the beginning and what kind of instruction they are looking for. An introductory email outlining
1. What their main goals is (improve drawing abilities, learn how to mix color, learn to paint landscapes, etc. )
2. How they like to be taught.
3. What their schedule looks like and if they expect me to bring materials/provide a space or they provide both.
All ages from beginner to intermediate skill level.
Look at what you can afford and one particular thing you want to master and find someone that specializes in that technique and is in your price range. For myself, I invest in my students and provide lots of encourgament and references to current and old master artist to spark interest and teach a little art histroy. I ask that they put in the effort on their own time between sessions needed to get better. Becoming a better artist is like going to the gym, or playing sports, you only get better if you practice often.
I just recently got back from SouthEast Asia and had a blast diving with Giant Manta Rays and hanging out with Monkeys in the forests of Bali.

I took a handful of 1-on-1 lessons from David to improve my drawing skills. He is a fun and engaging teacher that is very knowledgeable and attentive. I was an absolute beginner before we started and he patiently taught me some drawing exercises and techniques that helped me get the basics down.
