About Meg
• I spent two semesters at a local medical school taking advanced science courses during high school as part of an elite academic program (Genetics, Biomedical Research, Pathology, and Cancer Biology)
• I will be pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Biochemistry our in California
• I love science (spec. Biology and the health-sciences) and hope to help students come to appreciate how miraculous nature really is!
I've always loved the biological and natural sciences and fell in love with the spirit of discovery that studying science requires. My favorite part of instructing students is when the lightbuld flicks on and concepts become more understandable - I love seeing people become passionate about the same things I am and I hope our time together will give you a deeper appreciation for the health sciences!
I was chosen to participate in a very select High School Health-Science program through a local medical school, which included graduate school-level coursework and incredible networking opportunities. This experience not only taught me a LOT about the human body, but also how to study and instruct.
I have also been selected to participate in a very elite science honors program in California starting this fall, which will include accelerated curriculum and research internships.
Most importantly, I love the study of biology and want to help students come to love it as well. I want our sessions to be productive and effective, but also interesting, engaging, and enlightening!

I am really flexible with curiculum and will do my best to give students accurate, timely instruction, even if their topic of interest is a little outside of my area of expertise. Whatever you wish to learn (under the scope of biological and natural sciences!), I will do my best to make clear, understandable, and fun!
Once the topic in question is established (let's say, how the heart pumps blood), I will break it down for the student into the most basic parts (vessels, ventricles, atria), and then piece together the processes and other strucutures until the concept is clear. I'll also help students construct coherent notes and self-assessment strategies to solidify the information. I also like to use informal tests and quizzes measure progress and determine what concpets students are struggling with.
All in all, I want students to have a fun experience that doesn't dissuade them from the study of life, while also being effective and fruitful.
