About Jennifer
I am 44 years old and have a degree from Durham University. I am currently taking a break from being a Primary School Head Teacher and have taught children of all ages in the primary phase for over twenty years.
I have chosen to be a tutor during this time as I love to learn and I am passionate about helping others to learn too. During my teaching career, I have taught whole classes, small groups and individual children to reach specific goals with excellent success. I have prepared children for their Year 2 and Year 6 SATS in English and Maths. I have all tutored children who are struggling and need additional support as well and children who need challenging with extension work.
Forming a strong, respectful relationship with the children I work with is key to good progress and results as they feel valued and are receptive to the topics we are learning together. I like to make the learning as engaging and fun as possible and tailor it to the child’s needs e.g. auditory, visual or kinaesthetic. I offer friendly and relaxed lessons individually or in groups of up to three, bespoke to what the child requires.
