About Zahra
I am currently a Liberal Arts student at the University of Manchester, in which I study modules on English Literature, among other things!
At GCSE level, I achieved grade 9s in English Language & Literature, and went on to achieve an A in my English Literature A-level.
I have always had a passion for English - reading, writing - and wish to continue this throughout my life. After I graduate, I hope to travel and teach, helping students around the world to achieve their goals!
With an avid interest in my given subject and a desire to help others to the best of my ability, I have found that I excel in this field.

Having only recently been through the education system, I believe this is preferable as I have a fresh grasp of it due to personal experience. Further, I feel this makes me able to connect more with students in this age group.
Regarding English Language GCSE, I am able to tutor all exam boards, but have more experience with AQA.
Regarding English Literature, I have a great foundational knowledge and experience of the AQA specification & the texts: Shakespeare's Macbeth, J.B. Priestley's An Inspector Calls, and Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol.
As well as this, I am well versed in the poetry anthologies.
What I will do:
I will meet with the student any given amount of times per week, and we will work together to master exam and writing skills, ensuring they are familiar with the mark schemes and how to achieve the top grades. Further, we will thoroughly examine texts, learning effective analysis and application. I will aim to set them some independent work, that I will look through and provide feedback to ensure sound progress and learning.
I have previously tutored GCSE English Language & Literature, and saw outstanding progress results, helping a year 11 student achieve grade 6s, when he came to me on grade 2s and 3s.
Regarding younger children, I also have experience in helping primary-age children with literacy, reading and writing.
