About Lynda
Over the years, I have worked with many, many international students who need an IELTS score for immigration or college entrance.
As a testimonial of my abilities, many of these students have sent me examples of their new and improved band scores to show their progress.
A solid, friendly relationship develops from this type of interaction to the point that many students have kept in touch with me over the years, well after completing their IELTS test prep study.
Where students have come from various parts of the world, so distinct from Canada, it is always interesting to share insights into cultural differences from their home countries in comparison.
Above all, my students must be 100% satisfied with their learning experiences. Their letters of recommendation are proof of this.

When students first begin a lesson with me they simply answer short questions about their English study experience and about their personal preferences in their study.
Some of the questions may include the following:
Have you taken an IELTS exam before? Have you used IELTS test prep materials to study? Do you know what your general band scores are?
A short interview summary is made up from this information which would be shared with the student mutually, confirming the student's experiences and success.
With the student's permission, the interview can be recorded and transcribed for use in assigning a starting level whether upper beginnner, intermediate or advanced course study.
Materials for the tutorial lessons are carefully crafted toward each level, are free of charge and directly relate to the skill areas described in the IELTS band score mastery. For example,
Past Tense Regular Verbs Student __________
The student correctly produced /t/ /d/ /id. in regular past tense verb endings, scoring 90% accuracy.
The student produced "linking" transitional devices "but" with "and" in several instances and should develop further practice with variation using " in spite of this; however; furthermore; in addition.
