About Rukia
I am a dedicated and supportive tutor with over five years of experience working in a primary school, as well as TEFL training, GCSE-level subject knowledge, and diplomas in early childhood education and Montessori teaching. I create a calm, encouraging learning environment where children feel confident, motivated and safe to learn at their own pace. My teaching methodology focuses on creating a calm, engaging, and highly personalised learning experience that adapts to each child’s individual needs. I combine traditional teaching techniques with Montessori-inspired methods, encouraging independence, curiosity, and hands-on learning. My approach is rooted in clear explanations, step-by-step guidance, and activities that help young learners truly understand concepts rather than simply memorise them. I draw on my TEFL training, GCSE-level subject knowledge, and diplomas in early childhood education and Montessori teaching to design lessons that are developmentally appropriate, supportive, and confidence-building.
A typical lesson lasts around one hour and begins with a gentle warm-up activity to activate prior knowledge. We then move into focused learning tasks tailored to your child’s goals, whether that’s reading, writing, maths, spelling, or general homework support. Each session includes a mix of guided practice, interactive activities, and opportunities for your child to apply new skills independently. I always end lessons with a short reflection, celebrating progress and identifying next steps to ensure steady, long-term improvement.
With over five years of experience working in a primary school and ongoing work within education, I understand how to support children of different abilities, learning styles, and confidence levels. My lessons are suitable for all primary-aged learners, including those who may feel anxious, need extra encouragement, or simply benefit from a more personalised approach.
