About Orla
My fascination with Economics began with curiosity about how human decisions, markets, and policies shape the world around us. This interest led me to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and later a Master’s degree in Financial Economics, where I explored both theoretical frameworks and applied analysis. Over 11 years of teaching, I have helped students at all levels develop analytical skills, conceptual clarity, and practical understanding of economic systems.
I believe Economics education requires patience, clarity, and contextualization. Many learners initially struggle with abstract models or quantitative exercises, so I focus on real-world examples, step-by-step explanations, and interactive discussion. I create an environment where questions are welcomed, reasoning is emphasized, and understanding grows steadily, fostering independence and confidence.
Outside teaching, I remain engaged with contemporary economic research, data analysis, and policy developments. These experiences enrich my lessons and allow me to bring relevance and practicality into the classroom. Teaching Economics is deeply fulfilling because I witness learners build confidence, sharpen analytical skills, and develop the ability to think critically about complex societal and market systems.

Economics becomes engaging when learners understand the principles driving markets, decisions, and societal outcomes. My lessons focus on microeconomics, macroeconomics, behavioral economics, and quantitative analysis, providing clear conceptual frameworks and real-world examples. I emphasize understanding how theory applies in practice, helping learners connect abstract concepts to current events, business decisions, and policy implications.
Lesson structure is tailored to the learner’s level. Beginners explore fundamental economic concepts, supply-demand dynamics, and basic data interpretation. Intermediate learners delve into market structures, elasticity, fiscal and monetary policy, and applied modeling. Advanced learners study econometric analysis, policy evaluation, global economics, and advanced problem-solving exercises. Each session integrates guided reasoning, examples, and interactive discussion to reinforce comprehension and analytical skills.
Economics lessons also strengthen critical thinking, quantitative reasoning, and practical decision-making abilities. Students gain confidence analyzing data, interpreting trends, and understanding economic impacts. Many develop a habit of thinking systematically about choices and consequences. My goal is to support learners in becoming independent, confident thinkers capable of applying economic reasoning to academic, professional, and personal decisions.
