About Elise
My interest in Economics grew from a desire to understand how societies manage resources and address inequality, growth, and development. I completed a Bachelor’s degree in Economics followed by a Master’s degree in Development Economics, where I studied economic theory alongside real-world policy challenges. Over 13 years of teaching, I have helped learners build strong analytical foundations with clarity and confidence.
I believe effective Economics teaching requires patience and context. Many students feel intimidated by graphs and models, so I focus on explaining ideas step by step and grounding them in real-life examples. I encourage discussion, questioning, and reflection, helping students develop independent thinking rather than memorized answers.
Beyond teaching, I stay actively engaged with economics through policy research, global economic discussions, and continuous reading. These experiences enrich my lessons and allow me to provide meaningful context. Teaching Economics is rewarding because I see students grow into confident thinkers who understand and question the economic forces shaping society.

Economics becomes clearer when learners understand how abstract models explain real-world choices and outcomes. My lessons focus on building strong foundations in microeconomics, macroeconomics, market behavior, and policy analysis through structured explanation and relatable examples. I help students understand how incentives, trade-offs, and constraints shape economic decisions at both individual and societal levels. Lessons unfold logically, helping learners connect theory with current events and everyday experiences.
Lesson depth is adapted to the learner’s academic stage. Beginners focus on basic concepts, graphs, and economic language. Intermediate learners explore elasticity, production, national income, inflation, and fiscal policy. Advanced learners analyze case studies, economic data, policy evaluation, and exam-oriented reasoning. Each lesson blends theory with application, ensuring students gain confidence in using economic tools thoughtfully.
Economics lessons also develop critical thinking and informed judgment. Students become more confident discussing economic issues and interpreting news and data. Many learn to evaluate arguments more carefully and apply economic reasoning beyond the classroom. My goal is to help learners see Economics as a powerful lens for understanding the world.
