About Jamie
I am Jamie Mathieson, a dedicated tutor with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Business from University College London, where I achieved a Second Class Honours (Upper Division) with a 68% average. I excelled academically, earning A*AA in Mathematics, Physics, and Economics at A-level.

Approach to Tutoring and Teaching Methodology
Techniques and Teaching Methodology: My approach to tutoring is highly personalised and student-focused. I believe that every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to meet their unique needs and learning styles. I employ a combination of interactive discussions, problem-solving, and real-world applications to make abstract concepts in Economics and Finance relatable and easy to understand.
Typical Length of a Lesson: Each lesson typically lasts 60 minutes, which I find to be the optimal length for maintaining focus while covering enough content. For more in-depth topics, or when working on applications and dissertations, sessions can extend to 90 minutes if necessary.
Qualifications and Experience as a Tutor: I graduated from University College London (UCL) with a degree in Economics and Business, providing me with a strong academic foundation in these subjects. Alongside my work in the asset management industry, I have developed practical insights that complement my theoretical knowledge, and have experience explaining and training new joiners.
