About Aly
I have been teaching 1st-3rd grade for the past 6 years and studied the science of reading and its practices, and I completed my bachelor's degree in elementary education and my master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I focus on positive interactions and student growth and reinforce concepts as often as needed. I want to help students learn to love reading and build their confidence and independence in their education.

I teach 30-minute sessions that cover phonological awareness, visual and auditory drills, blending drills, articulation for letter sounds, letter formation, and irregular words and decodables. I utilize the University of Florida Learning Institute's methodology with evidence-based practices that have taken my students from minimal letter recognition to readers within 6 months. With 2-4 sessions per week, students gain 2 new concepts each week and receive decodable readers and practice games to reinforce lessons away from our sessions. Lessons are targeted for TK-3rd grade reading levels.
