About Deborah

To tell you more of my background:
I continue to have a lifelong interest in serving others through a range of educational roles, all centred around student progress.
After studying for a teaching qualification in Science, I taught biology, chemistry and sciences at all school levels in international schools in France. On return to the UK I continued to teach biology in colleges and at partner universities in London. The opportunity arose to transition to a new career as an educational quality manager. Following this, after completing a doctorate, I then worked as a Higher Education Policy Manager in a small university. I am still working part-time in academic quality and I am returning to how I started out, as an enthusiastic biology teacher.

About the lesson

As a dedicated biology teacher for over 25 years specialising in IB, Access to HE, AS/A-levels Foundation year biology and all related fields, I can help you refine your study skills
and build confidence as you progress.
To make the most of your time we would plan to construct a solid base for you to work from, building on your strengths and filling gaps. Most of all, I aim to make studying enjoyable, after all biology is exceptionally broad and exciting.
I was also an IB Deputy Chief examiner, and general examiner many years and co-authored biology publications for the IB.
I also taught on intense IB Oxford and Cambridge Easter and Summer schools.
After additional professional experience working in quality improvement and educational policy, I am returning to tutoring. I have a Doctorate and Masters in Education, a teaching qualification- PGCE science, a higher degree in biology/biochemistry Engineer degree from France, and a BSC Chemistry and biology from the UK.
After a lifetime in education, I would hope to support you grow in your chosen subject area.
