About Laura

I did a biological science degree at University, as well as maths, physics, chemistry and biology A Levels. I also have a PGCE in secondary science and my QTS from the DfE to teach in schools. I have been teaching for 6 years, teaching in schools in Plymouth Devon and now working in Poole Dorset.

About the lesson

My teaching style is based on the Rosenshine principles and the Teach Like A Champion (TLAC) methods. I like to make the lessons relatable to everyday life to help the content stick and use short quizzes to test understanding before moving on to the next section.

Laura is a fantastic tutor, she helped me through my GCSEs in 18/19 whilst finishing her own course. She wasn't intimidating like my friends tutor's, but understanding and gentle with her teaching methods. She used great resources and knew exactly what I needed to know for my exam, which was brilliant, because chemistry was my worse subject, but I needed to get a 7 to get my alevel choices, and I ended up getting an 8!!! She really helped me enjoy chemistry, I couldn't recommend anyone more.
