Super tutor

Krish is one of the best tutors in Biology. They have a high-quality profile, verified qualifications, a quick response time, and great reviews from students!

About Krish

Hi, I'm Krish! I'm an Imperial College London PhD researcher specialising in Immunology and an experienced Biology and Science tutor. I've been tutoring since 2019, helping over 50 students across Maths and Science develop their confidence, strengthen their understanding and achieve results they're proud of.

My approach to tutoring is simple: understanding a subject is important, but knowing how to apply that understanding is what makes the difference in exams.

This is particularly true in Biology, where students often find themselves memorising large amounts of information but struggling to apply their knowledge to unfamiliar questions. That's where I focus much of my teaching: helping students understand the underlying concepts, recognise connections between topics and develop the analytical and problem-solving skills they need to tackle challenging questions with confidence.

A little about my background:

- PhD researcher in Immunology at Imperial College London
- MSc in Immunology from Imperial College London
- First-Class Honours degree in Biomedical Science
- Tutoring experience across GCSE and A-Level Maths and Science since 2019
- Experience with AQA, Edexcel and OCR exam boards, including GCSE Foundation and Higher tiers

Beyond tutoring, my academic research involves investigating the role of the immune system in asthma and respiratory disease. This means I work with many of the biological concepts students encounter at GCSE and A-Level, from cells and molecular biology to immunity, physiology and experimental techniques, on a much deeper level.

I enjoy bringing this knowledge into my lessons where appropriate, helping students understand not only what they're learning, but why it matters and how it relates to the world around them.

What results have my students achieved?

I'm particularly proud of the progress my students have made, both academically and in their confidence. Many have exceeded their predicted grades, with students achieving grades 8–9 at GCSE and A/A* at A-Level. I've also supported students who have gone on to study Medicine or attend leading universities, including Oxford, Cambridge and Imperial College London.

But success isn't always about achieving a grade 9 or A*. For some students, it's moving from struggling with the basics to confidently passing their exams. For others, it's developing the skills needed to move from a good grade to an exceptional one.

What makes my tutoring different?

I don't believe in simply asking students to memorise textbook definitions and mark schemes. I want them to genuinely understand the biological processes they're learning, why they happen, how different concepts connect and how to apply that understanding to unfamiliar situations.

I also recognise that every student learns differently. I've worked with students of varying abilities, including those with dyslexia, exam anxiety or low confidence. I take a patient, supportive and adaptable approach, making sure students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.

Above all, I want my students to become confident, independent learners who eventually need less help from me, not more.

Whether you're looking to rebuild your confidence in Biology, improve your exam technique or push towards the highest grades, I'd be delighted to help.

Feel free to send me a message to discuss your goals or arrange a free introductory consultation!

About the lesson

My lessons are designed to help students do more than just memorise biological facts and definitions. I want them to understand Biology, develop confidence and become independent problem-solvers.

One of the biggest challenges students face at GCSE and A-Level is applying familiar biological concepts to unfamiliar questions, particularly those involving experimental data, practical investigations or unfamiliar scenarios. It's something I place particular emphasis on in my teaching.

What can you expect from my lessons?

1. Personalised learning

We'll identify your strengths, the topics you're struggling with and what you want to achieve. Whether you're working towards a passing grade or aiming for an 8, 9 or A*, lessons will be adapted to your ability, pace and goals.

2. Clear explanations and understanding

I'll break difficult biological concepts into manageable steps, using different explanations, diagrams and examples until they make sense. I encourage questions and make sure students understand why biological processes happen rather than simply memorising descriptions.

3. Developing problem-solving and analytical skills

We'll work through increasingly challenging questions, focusing on how to apply biological knowledge to unfamiliar contexts, interpret experimental results and identify relationships between different concepts. My aim is to help you become confident tackling questions independently.

4. Exam technique and preparation

We'll practise exam-style and past-paper questions relevant to your exam board, including AQA, Edexcel and OCR. We'll also work on interpreting command words, structuring extended answers, analysing data, understanding mark schemes and avoiding common mistakes.

5. Feedback and independent practice

I'll regularly assess your understanding and provide constructive feedback. Where useful, I'll also suggest targeted practice between lessons to reinforce what we've covered without overwhelming you with homework.

Who do I teach?

- KS3 Biology and general Science
- GCSE Biology — Foundation and Higher
- AS and A-Level Biology
- Students looking to improve confidence, understanding or exam performance

Lessons are delivered online in an interactive, supportive environment, with opportunities to ask questions, practise problems and receive personalised guidance.

Free 30-minute introductory consultation

Our first meeting is an opportunity to get to know each other, discuss your current level and goals, identify areas where you might need support and decide how best to approach your learning.

No pressure — just a chance to see whether we're a good fit!

I look forward to helping you reach your goals.

Perfect! Expert, empathetic and highly efficient - Krish imbued my son with confidence and exam technique, discussing up to date and relevant methods and objectives, which gave the edge on application of his learning. Even though his qualification was outside the usual requests for assistance and required outside knowledge. I don’t think an average tutor could have understood and helped us - a true superprof with proven experience and impressive track record of success - but also real understanding, interest and encouragement. We heartily recommend and probably one of the best on here, if not the best. Thank you Krish.

Perfect! I think Krish’s credentials speak for themselves, an obvious choice once you have spoken. A meticulous and patient approach means he is able to unpick topics and help my son problem solve with clarity.

Krish tutored my son from the middle of his GCSEs to the end of his A-Levels in Maths and Biology. My son achieved grade 8 in Maths and Biology, and really enjoyed lessons with Krish. We had other tutors for other subjects he studied but what set Krish apart is his focus on problem-solving which my son found really useful during A-Levels.

My daughter has dislexia and even though he did not have experience in the issue (that did not stop him to do research into to it and concentrate the lessons with techniques for dislexia) to tutor my daughter that is one of the things that amuse me about him , she got more condidence to the point that she ask me that she would like to study on her own, I highly recomend krish to tutor you won't regrest it.

Krish's methods of teaching were very good - if I didn't understand bits and pieces, he'd explain it to me in different ways until I understood.

He focuses greatly on understanding rather than memorisation and he also focuses on application and exam technique - all of these things greatly helped me in my confidence and overall ability in exams.

I'd definitely recommend him - thank you Krish!
