About Robyn

Hi future students!
My name is Robyn. I am 28 years old and I currently live in Cape Town.
I am studying Visual and Multimedia arts through UNISA. Although I am studying this now, I tried out various other degrees before finding the one that best suited me. The other degrees I tried were: BA General (majoring in Linguistics, History, Media Studies and German) I studied this for one year straight out of high school but stopped when I realised that I did not feel passionate about it. I also studied education through Wits, I loved it and studied it for three years (Majoring in English and Social Sciences for high schoolers), unfortunately, I felt that the quality of education I was receiving was lacking which drove me to make the difficult choice of not completing this degree.
I then moved to UNISA and tried my hand in law, which I soon realised was not a good fit for my personality. I studied law for 2 years.
Lastly, I found my current program and I am thriving while studying it!
On top of studying an embarrassingly large amount of different subjects, I have been an au pair since 2015 and I have tutored and assisted children of ages ranging from 6 months old (she obviously didn't require much tutoring) to 18 years old.
I am passionate about helping children find their footing in subjects. I approach teaching in a fun, creative and relaxed way.

About the lesson

My lessons will be tailored to each individual need.
I take a very relaxed and conversational approach to teaching and I will be able to help learners to think critically - thus allowing the student to solve problems on their own, raising their confidence as well as their proficiency.
I am Fluent in English, I also know a decent amount of Russian, German and French, however, my teaching will be conducted only in English.
In a typical lesson with me, learners can expect a relaxed and creative environment, one that encourages the learner to engage with their subject matter. Learners will do fun and related activities tailor made to fit their own individual needs. If necessary, learners may be required to do homework.
I studied high school education (I assisted with learners in all years of high school). I also have ample experience in teaching primary school children (from ages 8 to 12).
