About Corey

My name is Corey, I am originally from Durham and now live in Newcastle-upon-Tyne as a full-time student. I plan on completing a PhD in Medicinal chemistry (fingers crossed) after my master's. I enjoy helping others - especially with science - and would love to help you with your studies and hopefully get some more young people interested in science.
When I am home I look after animals as I live on a farm with my grandparents, which is always fun although it does feel like living in a zoo sometimes.
I can't wait to meet you and help you to learn!

About the lesson

A typical lesson would consist of :
5-10 minutes of quick review of previous topic (short questions).
~15 minutes introducing new content (explanation of a topic).
~10 minutes applying the content (doing a task to show to apply the concept).
~15 minutes of collaborative exam-style questions ,
~10 minutes of a short quiz to establish how confident the student feels with the content.
~ 5 minutes of Introducing a small takeaway task (usually making some revision materials)
A lesson would typically be 1 hour and ten minutes.
I teach separate sciences at GCSE level (AQA preferred as I am most familiar)
I also teach A-level chemistry (AQA preferred)
I am in university entering the latter stages of my master's to hopefully do my PhD in chemistry, I am a peer mentor at Newcastle so help first year students to settle into their university life.
