About Ezra

I currently teach at Glendale Community College in Glendale, CA.

I hold an MA in economics from The New School for Social Research in New York City, NY and an MBA with a concentration in Entrepreneurship from Cal State LA in Los Angeles, CA.

I teach both microeconomics and macroeconomics. I also have extensive experience with the history of economic thought, and with political economy.

I make sure my students understand mainstream economic theory at very deep levels, but I also am fascinated with heterodox (outside the norm) economic theory as well

About the lesson

As a student, you get the benefit of my customized college-level material but with a one-on-one experience. Over the course of many semesters I have honed my lesson plan to be extremely accessible to learners of all levels and backgrounds! I have also used many different textbooks so I can easily adapt to your specific text.

I am the teacher for you if you are:
- high school to undergraduate level
- taking intro to intermediate microeconomics
- taking intro to intermediate macroeconomics
- taking history of economics or political economy

As a community college teacher who teaches introductory economics classes, I encounter countless students who are worried about the idea of taking economics. Many do not consider themselves as "math people." If that sounds like you, my mission is to make you feel at ease. I get to the heart of what standard economics is trying to argue and I don't get bogged down in running math problems over and over again.

It is also important to me to address critiques of mainstream economic theory and interrogate assumptions made within the models. If this sounds interesting, I am the tutor for you!

Ezra is a really good teacher. He's good at taking a complex subject and explaining the actual practical use of it. I can sometimes struggle with answering questions on exams because which I may know the concept it's difficult for me to put it into practice with an example and Ezra was a great tutor in helping me bridge that gap. He really helped me improve my econ grade.
