About Imari

Imari's educational background is extensive, and she is often referred to by her colleagues and friends as a professional student. Completing her Associate's Degree through dual-enrollment in high school, while also working part-time at the local courthouse, Imari is a natural born multitasker, extremely hard-worker, and has phenomenal communication skills. Obtaining an Associate Degree in Business Administration, Bachelor’s Degree in Legal Studies and Business, and a Master’s Degree in Communication Management, her areas of expertise are endless. She has worked professionally with attorneys, surgeons, retail companies, and private businesses, supporting her expansion and continued success. Like many others, Imari unexpectedly found herself unemployed during the COVID-19 pandemic. While she had the opportunity to return to her prior fields for employment, she decided to use the time she was given to do some soul-searching and find what next employment endeavor would bring her the most joy. As a result, she quickly found herself in a substitute teaching position. Going into the opportunity with an open mind and an open heart, she fell in love with teaching. She immediately began studying to pass her certifications and became a certified teacher in Elementary Education K-6, in addition to Exceptional Student Education K-12. Imari has tutored with public schools, charter schools, privately throughout the local community, and with companies, such as Sylvan Learning and TutorDoctors. Her experience is extensive, and she has seen endless different students exceed their own expectations with a little bit of hard work, and a lot of fun when working with her!

About the lesson

Teaching all that she knows from experience and a place of love and compassion, is what makes Imari an outstanding educator. She believes that the knowledge and passion she offers in the world is needed in all communities and by remaining focused on serving others, she can continue to show up as her best self.

Through maintaining a calm, joyous learning atmosphere, Imari invites students to surprise themselves in a supportive space to show up as their best selves and learn something new.

Each lesson you can expect to review the objectives and goals for the day, and review once every few sessions your progress towards these goals. Utilizing material that suits the individuals interests, lessons are created and supported with differentiated instruction, with use of tiered supports for all levels of learners.

Whether creating, reviewing, or introducing a new skill, Imari tailors lessons to suit the individual students learning style and capabilities, while also pushing their limits to continue growing!

She first did an assessment and then assisted my son with reading above grade level in such a short time. He loved his time with Amari, because she was fun and played learning games which helped since he’s very competitive.
