About Abdul Mawjooth

Hi, I’m Arshaaq. I’m an Economics and Finance graduate from the University of Surrey, have completed all CIMA professional examinations, and I am currently pursuing CFA Level II. My background includes experience in accounting, finance and corporate finance, including roles with organisations such as KPMG and ABN AMRO.

My interest in teaching started even before university, when I taught selected CIMA modules to other students. I really enjoyed taking topics that initially seemed complicated and explaining them in a simpler way that helped students understand the reasoning behind them.

I want to continue tutoring because I know how much difference the right explanation can make. Economics, Accounting and Business Studies can sometimes feel overwhelming when they are taught mainly through textbooks and memorisation. My aim is to make these subjects more practical, relatable and easier to understand.

I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and working through difficult topics at their own pace. Whether you are struggling with the basics, aiming for a higher grade or preparing for an important exam, my goal is to help you build both your understanding and confidence.

About the lesson

My lessons are designed to make Economics, Accounting and Business Studies clear, practical and easy to understand, regardless of your current level or confidence in the subject.

I tailor each lesson to the individual student, focusing on areas where they need the most support. Rather than simply memorising theories, formulae or definitions, I help students understand the reasoning behind each concept and how to apply it effectively.

Lessons typically combine clear explanations, real-world examples, worked questions and independent practice. For students preparing for exams, I also focus heavily on past-paper questions, exam technique, time management and how to structure answers to maximise marks.

I teach:

Accounting – Financial and management accounting concepts, calculations and exam techniques
Economics – Microeconomics, macroeconomics, diagrams, calculations and essay-style questions
Business Studies – Key business concepts, case-study analysis and structured exam answers
