About Ali
==== (CHEMISTRY | ORGANIC CHEMISTRY | THERMODYNAMICS) ====
Hello, I’m Ali, a Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering student with a strong academic foundation in Chemistry and a structured, problem-solving approach to learning. My teaching style is shaped by engineering thinking: break complex ideas into clear steps, understand the logic behind them, apply the right method, and then check the result carefully.
I specialise in Chemistry with particular focus on Organic chemistry, Thermodynamics, Chemical Physics, and the quantitative side of STEM learning. That means I also support students who need stronger foundations in Precalculus, Calculus, Statistics, and Quantitative Methods when these areas affect chemistry calculations, data interpretation, modelling, and analytical reasoning.
My goal is to help students move beyond memorisation and build genuine understanding. I work especially well with students who know the topic in theory but struggle when questions become calculation-heavy, multi-step, or more analytical. In these cases, I focus on improving both subject knowledge and the method used to solve problems.
I believe difficult topics become much more manageable when they are organised clearly and taught with the right structure. For that reason, I use a student-centred approach built around clear explanations, targeted feedback, and repeatable methods that help students improve with confidence.
Each lesson is tailored to the student’s level, goals, and current weak areas. Whether you need help with reaction pathways in Organic chemistry, thermodynamic reasoning, Chemical Physics concepts, quantitative chemistry questions, or broader STEM thinking, I aim to make lessons practical, engaging, and genuinely useful under real academic pressure.
My objective is not only to help you perform better in Chemistry, but also to strengthen the analytical and problem-solving habits that support long-term success across STEM subjects.

WHAT I HELP WITH
1) ORGANIC CHEMISTRY
This is often one of the most content-heavy areas, so I teach it in a structured, connected way rather than as isolated facts.
Topics can include:
- Functional groups and homologous series
- Nomenclature and structural formulae
- Isomerism
- Reaction pathways and synthesis routes
- Reagents, conditions, products, and observations
- Mechanisms and electron movement
- Polymers and organic analysis
- Spectroscopy basics where relevant
- Converting “too much content” into patterns you can revise efficiently
2) THERMODYNAMICS
I teach thermodynamics in a way that links equations to physical meaning, so you are not just memorising formulas.
Topics can include:
- System, surroundings, and energy transfer
- Heat, work, internal energy, and the first law
- Enthalpy changes and thermochemical equations
- Hess-style reasoning and energy cycles
- Entropy intuition and spontaneity ideas
- Gibbs-style reasoning where relevant to your level
- Calorimetry and thermal calculations
- Efficiency and energy balance thinking
- Interpreting thermodynamic problems step by step
3) CHEMICAL PHYSICS / PHYSICAL-CHEMISTRY REASONING
This area often feels abstract, so I focus on translating it into clear models and problem-solving steps.
Topics can include:
- Atomic and molecular structure
- Bonding and intermolecular interactions
- Kinetic theory and particle behaviour
- States of matter and phase-related reasoning
- Reaction rates and collision-based thinking
- Equilibrium interpretation
- Electrochemical and energy-related reasoning where relevant
- Graph interpretation and model-based explanation
- Connecting microscopic behaviour to macroscopic observations
4) PRECALCULUS (AS SUPPORT FOR CHEMISTRY + STEM PROBLEM SOLVING)
Precalculus often becomes important when students struggle with chemistry calculations, data, and functional relationships.
Topics can include:
- Algebraic manipulation
- Indices, roots, fractions, and rearranging formulas
- Functions and graphs
- Exponentials and logarithms
- Rates of change intuition
- Sequences and patterns
- Trigonometric basics where needed
- Interpreting nonlinear relationships in scientific data
5) CALCULUS (WHERE RELEVANT TO YOUR LEVEL / GOALS)
Calculus is introduced only where it genuinely helps your understanding of chemistry, physical models, or quantitative STEM work.
Topics can include:
- Limits and change
- Differentiation basics
- Gradients and rates of change
- Optimisation ideas
- Integration basics
- Area under curves and accumulation ideas
- Simple differential-equation thinking where appropriate
- Linking calculus ideas to reaction change, motion, or physical systems
6) STATISTICS
Statistics is useful when chemistry becomes data-based, experimental, or evidence-driven.
Topics can include:
- Averages and measures of spread
- Trends, distributions, and variability
- Interpreting tables and graphs
- Comparing data sets
- Probability basics where useful
- Correlation and regression intuition
- Uncertainty and error awareness
- Experimental data interpretation
- Making evidence-based conclusions from data
7) QUANTITATIVE METHODS
This is where students often gain marks by becoming more systematic.
Topics can include:
- Dimensional analysis and unit discipline
- Estimation and reasonableness checks
- Ratio, proportion, and percentage change
- Scientific notation and significant figures
- Formula selection
- Step-by-step calculation structure
- Quantitative interpretation of graphs and tables
- Turning worded questions into solvable steps
- Building confidence with multi-step numerical problems
