About Areesh

I am a UK-qualified Chartered Accountant with several years of professional experience in accounting, audit and finance, including experience at EY. I have worked with a wide range of organizations and have developed a strong understanding of accounting, business, finance and analytical problem-solving.

I enjoy helping people understand concepts that may initially seem difficult or overwhelming. My teaching style is patient, structured and practical, and I focus on explaining the reasoning behind a topic rather than encouraging students to simply memorize information.

Having studied Math, Business and Economics myself before progressing into a professional accounting career, I understand how important it is to have someone who can explain a concept in a different way when it does not immediately make sense.

Whether you are struggling with the basics, preparing for an exam or aiming for a higher grade, I will work with you at your own pace and tailor lessons to the areas where you need the most support.

About the lesson

My approach is focused on making difficult concepts simple, practical and easy to apply. I adapt each lesson to the student’s level, goals and learning style, whether they are preparing for exams, working through assignments or simply trying to build confidence in a subject.

I use a step-by-step teaching method that starts with the core concept, explains the reasoning behind it and then applies it through worked examples and practice questions. For Accounting, Business and Economics, I also use real-world examples from my professional experience to help students understand how the theory works in practice. For Maths, I focus on breaking problems into manageable steps and helping students understand the method rather than memorising answers.

A typical lesson will usually begin with a short review of the previous topic or an assessment of the areas the student is struggling with. We will then work through the key concepts together, followed by guided examples and independent questions. I will identify any gaps in understanding as we go and revisit them until the student feels confident. Where appropriate, I can also help with exam technique, practice questions, revision planning and understanding how to structure answers.

What sets me apart is my combination of academic knowledge and real professional experience. I am a UK-qualified Chartered Accountant with several years of experience in accounting and audit, including experience at EY. This allows me to explain subjects not only from a textbook perspective but also through practical examples of how Accounting, Business and Finance work in the real world.

My lessons are suitable for students studying Maths, Accounting, Business or Economics at secondary school, GCSE/IGCSE, A-Level or equivalent levels, as well as university students studying introductory Accounting, Business or Finance-related courses. I am also happy to work with adult learners or students who simply want to strengthen their understanding and confidence.

My aim is for students to leave each lesson understanding not just what the answer is, but why it is the answer and how they can solve similar problems independently in the future.
