I think you have a great coversation skills by using simple sentences. Also you are good at applying your knowledge when you learn new vocabulary or grammar.
I will do the following so that you can improve your conversation skills with your family.
・Increase vocabs by reading/listening stories and making example sentences
・Make class more engaging and entertaining by using visual tools, videos or dramas given you would like to learn Japanese for fun
・Help you improve your listening skills by doing dictation, shadowing, paying more attention to sentence patterns, collocations
・Help you speak more naturally by correcting errors and providing context (when to use, where to use, whom to use )
・Have a task practice, which encourages you speak more freely and spontaneously
