About Peter

I am currently in my second year of my MD, and hold an MSc in Experimental Medicine at McGill University (4.0 GPA). Before that, I completed the French Baccalaureate Série Scientifique, Spécialité Mathématiques, with a 20/20 in both maths and sciences, after which I completed a BSc in Microbiology and Immunology at McGill with minors in Psychology and Entrepreneurship for Science Students.

I have been tutoring for 7+ years and have now worked with more than 150+ students from different academic systems (French Bac, IB, AP, CEGEP, College) over 2000+ hours of private tutoring. Many of my students have worked with me over long periods of time, from a full semester to several years, which reflects the trust they place in my teaching style and the progress they make.

In addition to private tutoring, I spent 5 years (2020-2024) as the head teaching assistant for PHYS 102 (electromagnetism) at McGill (a 500+ student class), and 2 years (2021-2022) as a mentor for PHYS 101 (mechanics). Through this experience, as well as my research in science education with Dr. Nikolas Provatas, I developed teaching methods that are clear, structured, adaptable, and effective for a wide range of students and learning styles. My research on science education and teaching led to 3 conference presentations and a workshop I gave at McGill to science professors, advising on teaching practices in the Faculty of Science (McGill Course Design Workshop 2023).

I genuinely enjoy teaching and take pride in helping students build confidence, improve their grades, and finally understand material that previously felt overwhelming.

About the lesson

My physics lessons cover: mechanics, electromagnetism, kinematics, dynamics, waves, exam prep and assignment writing from middle school to CEGEP/undergraduate levels.

My lessons are always adapted to the student’s level, goals, and learning style. At the beginning, I take the time to identify where the student is struggling, whether that is with theory, problem solving, organization, confidence, or exam technique. From there, we build a clear plan together.

In most lessons, I combine concise explanation of the core concepts with guided practice, problem solving, and active recall. I do not simply re-teach the material passively. My goal is to make sure the student can understand it, apply it independently, and recognize the logic behind each type of question.

In physics, I focus on helping students connect formulas to physical intuition. Many students struggle because they try to memorize equations without understanding the concepts behind them. I help them develop a step-by-step method for analyzing problems clearly and confidently.

I also help students develop stronger study habits, better ways of organizing their work, and more efficient exam preparation strategies. For students preparing for tests, quizzes, finals, or standardized exams, I can create focused review sessions that target both weak points and high-yield material.

Because I have worked with students from different systems, including the French Baccalaureate, IB, AP, CEGEP, and North American university courses (across Canada and the US), I am comfortable adapting lessons to different curricula and expectations. Lessons are online and personalized, and I am committed to making them both supportive and results-oriented.

My rates reflect the level of experience, preparation, and personalized support I bring to each session. I have a highly specialized academic background, extensive formal teaching experience, and over 7+ years of private tutoring experience with more than 150+ students and over 2000+ hours taught. My Superprof reviews also reflect the consistency, clarity, and results that I aim to provide in every lesson.
Rates may vary depending on the student’s level, the subject, and the type of support needed, whether that is long-term tutoring, targeted exam preparation, MCAT support, or help with written assignments and scientific work. Because I balance tutoring with a demanding academic and medical training schedule, my availability is limited, and I prioritize offering focused, high-quality sessions that are truly tailored to each student.

Students who work with me can expect serious dedication, strong teaching, and a clear investment in their understanding, progress, and long-term success. I am happy to work with students looking for regular long-term support, targeted exam prep, or help with specific difficult topics. Please feel free to message me with a few details so I can guide you toward the best option.
