About Lucy
I have just graduated from the University of Cambridge with a first class degree in Natural Sciences. I have been tutoring for 4 years on and off, covering all 11+ topics, GCSE maths, biology, chemistry and physics and Biology and Chemistry A level. I have helped students drastically improve their grades and understanding in a short space of time as well as helping other students progress over a longer timeframe. Having recently been through school myself I am very engaged with the material and the style of learning and level of understanding necessary at each stage of the course. I am a friendly, approachable and patient tutor and very willing to help!

To begin, I like to casually assess each student's understanding, by asking them to explain some key concepts or fundamentals of a topic, to get an idea of where to begin. At the start of each lesson, I focus on recapping what was covered last time and ask if the student has any questions from before or things they would like to go over in particular. I also like to casually quiz students throughout lessons to check their understanding as I know how easy it is to nod and say you understand when actually you are really confused! I am a patient tutor and firmly believe that, especially in science and maths, without a strong grasp of fundamental principles taught at the start of the course students will not reach their potential. Thus, developing and cementing these is crucial.
