About Aimy

Hello! I’m a passionate and dedicated primary school teacher with 8 years of experience, teaching a wide range of year groups from Year 1 to Year 6. My core teaching areas are Phonics, English, and Mathematics, and I specialize in helping children develop strong foundations in literacy, numeracy, and confidence. I currently teach in an international school environment following the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP). The IB and PYP framework provides a child-centered, inquiry-based, and transdisciplinary learning approach that encourages curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking. In this environment, students take ownership of their learning through exploration, collaboration, and reflection — making lessons both meaningful and enjoyable. My teaching is guided by the PYP philosophy, which emphasizes hands-on learning, international-mindedness, and holistic development. Each lesson is carefully structured from known to unknown and simple to complex, allowing every child to progress at their own pace with confidence. Through interactive phonics instruction, creative English tasks, and practical Math activities, I help children learn in ways that suit their individual learning styles. I also provide consistent feedback and progress updates, so parents can clearly see their child’s growth and achievements. About the lesson

I believe every child can learn with joy and confidence when guided the right way.

With 8 years of experience teaching in primary schools, covering a wide range of subjects and year groups from Year 1 to Year 8. My core teaching areas are Phonics, English, and Mathematics, and I have experience with international curricula.

I design and organize my teaching materials according to the curriculum, following a clear hierarchy of themes, topics, and units. Lessons are structured from known to unknown, simple to complex, and theoretical to practical to support progressive learning.

At the start of each theme, I set clear learning objectives and outcomes, along with engaging activities that match each unit. My lesson plans are designed to capture students’ attention and enhance their understanding through interactive and multisensory approaches, especially in phonics instruction.

I adapt materials to different learning styles and levels of prior knowledge, ensuring that each student can connect new concepts to their learning context. At the end of each theme, students complete a theme task that encourages problem-solving, creativity, and real-life application of knowledge.

I provide constructive feedback after each theme to help students reflect on their progress, understand their strengths and areas for improvement, and develop strategies for continued growth. I view learning as a personal yet collaborative journey, where each student is supported within a shared learning community.
