Chemistry is one of the classes that most students either love or dread. Chemistry is usually not a compulsory subject at the secondary school level except for students in the science classes. However, most secondary schools in Nigeria make chemistry compulsory for all students in S.S 1 classes before they are allowed to choose to either become science, art, or commercial students.

Learning about chemistry is quite fascinating since you are exposed to how substances interact at a molecular level and finding ways of applying some of the fundamental questions to biomedical issues.

The study of chemistry is an in-road to individuals seeking to pursue a career in engineering, medicine, or any other natural sciences field.

Chemistry can be a challenging subject for most people, but it doesn't have to be so. Most people struggle with chemistry because they don’t approach it well.

Here we would be exploring places where you can study chemistry courses and be awarded Chemistry degrees in Benin, Edo State.

Learning Chemistry with a Private Tutor

Chemistry can be studied both at the secondary and the university level. Individuals struggling with chemistry often require private tutors to put them through on some of the basic principles of Chemistry.

The problem that most people preparing for WAEC, JAMB, or even those in higher institution faces is that there is a lot of new information to learn and memorize when studying chemistry. In fact, there is so much new information that one is bombarded with as they begin to study chemistry, which can get one to get bogged down when trying to memorize all the fundamental concepts and formulas.

To cope with this, there is a need to involve the services of an experienced and professional teacher other than your teacher in class or your lecturers in schools.

A private tutor means that you are not holed-up in a classroom or lecture room for hours, since you might only need a tutor to help you with a particular topic or question. This allows you to only focus on those areas that you don't understand very well. In a conventional Chemistry class at the university, you are expected to follow a pre-arranged syllabus, but with a private tutor, you can start from the topics that are more peculiar to you.

This helps you not to get lost in class when been taught different topics at the same time. With the private tuition, you are opportune to take one-on-one classes where you can ask questions and receive individualized classes.

You can also receive online tutoring, which would allow you to learn more visually.

The major shortcoming of following this route in learning Chemistry is that there is a high possibility that your private tutor might not own his/her lab. This may act as an obstacle to doing the practical aspect of the classes. To overcome this challenge, you or your tutor may need to find a lab to rent for your practical chemistry and experiments.
